Insurance you can explain to your spouse.
I'm Sima. I sit down with families in Las Vegas and across California, read whatever coverage they already have, and help them decide what to do next. It takes about thirty minutes and costs nothing.
Term, whole, and indexed universal life. Independent, so the recommendation follows the household, not one carrier's catalogue.

The review
Most people don't need more coverage. They need to know whether what they have still fits.
A job changed. A second child arrived. The mortgage was refinanced. Any one of those quietly changes the answer, and nobody sends a letter about it.
Thirty minutes
On the phone, or in person if you'd rather. You talk, I take notes. Nothing to prepare.
I read the policy
Including the group coverage from work, which is where most of the surprises live.
A written summary
What you own, what it covers, and the two or three choices in front of you. Yours to keep either way.
Three structures
There are only three, and the differences are simpler than they sound.
Term life
Cheapest per dollar of coverage, and it ends.
Bought to cover a window — the mortgage, the years until the youngest finishes school. Premiums stay level for the term you pick, then the policy stops. That's the whole tradeoff.
02Whole life
Permanent, predictable, more expensive.
The premium doesn't move and the coverage doesn't expire. It builds cash value slowly. It is the right answer less often than it gets sold, which is worth saying out loud.
03Indexed universal life
Flexible, and the one that needs reading.
Adjustable premiums with crediting tied to an index, subject to caps and policy charges. Genuinely useful for some long-term plans. If someone shows you only the good column, ask for the other one.
